"Reggae - Reggae Sauce" founder inspires entrepreneurs at the UK's biggest free start-up event - ExCeL 27/28 April

Levi Roots, who sang his way to a £50K cash investment on Dragons' Den and launched his sell-out sauce, will be just one of the successful entrepreneurs inspiring visitors at the forthcoming Business Startup show on the 27th and 28th April 2007 at London's ExCeL.

Talking about how he wowed the Dragons and took his sauce business from a stall at the Nottinghill Carnival to supermarket shelves, Levi will join serial success story Stelios, chairman of easyGroup, Ashraf Sharif, founder of Balti Wines and Michelle Dewberry, winner of the BBC's Apprentice in 2006. Each will offer motivational advice and reveal how they overcame challenges to establish themselves in business. Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer, will be at the show on the afternoon of Friday 27th, signing copies of his new book, Bottled for Business.

Visitors to the free event will also have the chance to choose from over 100 free seminars presented by some of the UK's top commercial minds, covering topics including legal issues, marketing ideas and successful franchising.

Start-up cash will be available as part of the 'Midas Touch' feature. Using the same format as Dragons' Den, the Midas Touch sees a panel of well-known business personalities sounding out winning investment opportunities from visitors brave enough to get on stage and pitch. Anyone bursting with a business idea can apply for a slot in front of the panel at www.bstartup.com.

At the heart of the show is an exhibition of over 150 stands involving companies and support agencies offering products, advice and services for people looking to start a business or already running small businesses. Visitors will be able to seek advice on funding, gain insight on technology and software, and learn about best practice in areas like marketing and sales.

Visitors looking to establish or grow their business can take part in the event's 'Speed Networking' feature which uses the speed-dating format to give business people one-minute sessions with like-minded individuals before moving round the rest of the group.

Dedicated one-to-one support is also available in private booths where experts will be offering guidance on twelve specialist subjects including business planning, cashflow management and online marketing.

Ok we all have problems, but are they are ‘problems’? The term ‘problem(s)’ is a like a cheap get out clause. Some people crumble under different levels of 'problems' but remember one thing... ‘problems ‘are to be solved! – Simple as not if or buts.

People are like best friends when they can share problems and talk about problems, we have been programmed to relate to problems.

You switch on the TV, read the paper, search the net and the best sellers, the most engaging medium is the one with showcases problems.

It's like we want to mimic what the media shows, but at the same time feel safe. People I know either have a burning desire to do something but won't because they relate to the pit falls they see in the media or have a doomed perspective on life because in a twisted way it's comfortable.

Do away with ‘problems’ and do away with it fast and anyone who talks about ‘problems’ persistently, do away with them!

Help them yes, but you can only help so far as I said previously some people in their own twisted way are comfortable and no matter what you do or say will help, in fact they will more than likely cause you ‘problems’ and weigh you down.

So what is your problem?

Ask yourself is it a problem, is it your problem and the what hell can you do about it?

In life we face a situation, in fact we face thousands of situations in a day, the difference is some we deal with naturally. Example:

I jump in my car and drive to my destination because I have overcome the 'problem' of not being able to drive. Now someone who cannot drive obviously this is a problem, but I can go deeper, just because I can drive I still face the problem of getting to my destination and getting back.

I can tell people of my trauma stuck in traffic and use powerful negative sentences like 'I was stuck in bloody traffic today, it was a flipping nightmare and this guy tried to cut in front of me and I just hate it' straight away I have set the tone, set the mood, the vibe and then the person who I would say that to would agree and then relate... very similar to the Weather syndrome, here in the UK the weather is gloomy and you can strike up a negative conversation just based on the weather.

So do away with ‘problems’ and the next time you buck upon a ‘problem’ or if there is something you feel is a problem, take a step back and ask you self... what is my problem?

There is so much going on everywhere about "Law of Attraction". Bob Proctor has made it so popular with his film – The Secret. The popularity is so huge that it was featured on several prominent TV shows – Oprah Winfrey, Larry King, Ellen Degeneres etc.

To move forward or not to move forward... that is the question.

So your happy with your life, you go to work, come home everyday, maybe watch some TV, tidy the house, sort out the kids, the usual stuff, end of the month comes pay your bills, your life is comfortable. As long as nothing goes wrong, your usual routine should see you through life just fine. Banks love you because money is coming in regular, you might have a few credit cards, loans and mortgage, government love you because no matter what, you got to pay your taxes, so hey what the heck why set goals?

Some people believe that successful persons are made, not born. Yes, it is true that some people are born with natural talents, but there can be no true success without practice, without experience, and without - motivation. We all dream big dreams and have great ambitions. However, for many people dreams remain just that - dreams. They get caught up in the monotony of living from day-to-day, just barely existing, thinking about what ifs. For some people 1 knock back is enough to get de-motivated while for others, 10 knock back just fuels the motivation. There are many ways to get motivated and there are many ways to be demotivated, it all depends on what you are prepared to let your mind be exposed to.

As you know we here at BPN like to bring you scam free, legitimate ways of making extra income. I got sent an email the other day about a recruitment site which pays you for referrals of jobs which I thought sounds interesting, so I thought let me share with you. It works like this...
