One thing I have learnt and will always treasure is this..  When ever you are going through difficult times remember this..

"The exterior circumstances of your physical life need not have anything to do with the interior experience of your (spiritual) life.

It is not necessary for you to be pain-free in order to be free of suffering.

It is not necessary for there to be a lack of disruption in your life for there to be peace.

Indeed, true Masters experience peace in the face of disruption and conflict, not because they have found a way to avoid it.

This inner peace is what all beings seek, because it is the essence of what all beings are.

And you will always seek the experience of Who You Really Are.

You may achieve this inner peace in the face of any exterior condition or circumstance simply by understanding that you are not your body, and that nothing you see is real.

"  Neale Donald Walsh

In a nutshell - can you be yourself in the face of any adversity?  The adversity in our lives need not disrupt our lives and inner peace to the degree that we become what we are not  i.e. unhappy, depressed, anxious etc.

*Acknowledge the experience or situation rather than ignoring what is happening

*Engage with your emotions rather than repressing them

*Give yourself a period of feeling any negative emotions rather than 'being' negative and take this to be how you really are.

*Consider how you have contributed to how you feel or the situation rather than just blaming external circumstances

*Identify any unhealth habits that you have that have caused the situation or make you feel worse rather than doing what you have always done

*Imagine or visualise a positive outcome or develop an idea of how things could be or will be rather than giving up or giving in.

There are those who see things as they are and say, "Why?" And there are those who dream of things that never were and say, "Why not?"
