We are currently working on a conference to be held on the 25th July 2007 in London. The conference will give black owned businesses the oppertunity to network and learn how to bid for contracts for the 2012 London games.

Olympic Contracts Opportunities Awareness Conference

Event: Olympic Contract Opportunities Awareness Conference Date: 25th July 2007 Venue: New Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queens Street, Covent Gardens, WC2B 5DA Time: 09.00 – 17.30 The London Business Development Agency (LBDA) previously named the Haringey Business Development Agency (HBDA) –will hold another extraordinary conference on the hot topic of Procurement Diversity, and how to successfully tender for Olympic Contracts. Small and minority owned businesses will have the opportunity to question the expert panel of people in the position of power; who make the decisions and have the answers on Olympic Procurement Opportunities. Morag Stuart: Head of Olympic Procurement for the Olympics Delivery Authority, The expert panel will be put to the test by over 250 small business owners all wanting a piece of the Olympic pie. LBDA will also launch a new Procurement Programme known as ‘BAMETRIP’ designed to help small and minority businesses build on the PDP skills development to a “fit to compete” level. This new practical support opportunity will benefit over 300 businesses across London. Dr Effiong Akpan CEO of LDBA says: “Minority business owners are fit to compete, they are ready to supply, and now want to see how diverse – the games of diversity really are, and what contracts will be accessible to these businesses”. Each of the panel members will make presentations on what their organisations are doing to encourage, support and capacity build SMEs.
